Are distance weapons like stars useless?

In the past assassin star used to be a good option for paladin but today it's more like garbage.

Are there any kind of hunts or another work where it's worth for RPs to use items like Assassin  and Royal  Stars?

I will try to make the answer short:

Assasins stars are no longer used as common tool of hunt, you can use if you are poor and need to farm things for get your bow imbuimentrs but still is better a normal bow without imbuiments.

Royal stars are great for online training on modified gnarlhound, i use them for that they last around 10-15 minutes (somethimes i got kicked by afk and i still have some stars lefr so it can be more of 15 minutes per stack of 100 stars) So my answer is, they are great for training but not for regular hunts. Paladin lvl 506 and growing here i will be pleased to answer any paldin related questions.

I could see myself using it if I was soloing and just dont have the money for a good bow. but other then that if I have the top xbow or bow I always use it.

Talking about people high level, YES. But in low levels are one of the best weapons if you are a new player or dont have to much money to pay a good bow or crossbow. Another think is when you need use shield because need tank a monster and make damage.
