It seems that after 5 years the speedrunning record of sub 12-minutes remains unchallenged. The run is to take all the potions, get a mage, go down to the skeletons (best XP/HP ratio) and hit many at once with waves. Also, you mainly heal by leveling up. Keep in mind, however, that these speed-runs have constraints: FACC (no stamina boost), no external help.
In January of 2024 knights got a new spell: Lesser Front Sweep, but still, the run time seems to be dominated by obtaining a decent weapon (that is, killing Meadow Striders until it drops a mace/hatchet/longsword with ~7% chance).
Paladins got Lesser Ethereal Spear, but with its cooldown and being single-target doesn't noticeably increase the overall DPS. It seems, that they took away the Arrow Call spell, so we cannot stockpile mana potions and hunt the skeletons.
Personally I'm still not able to break the 25 mins mark (within constraints), but as of today I'd recommend two options for no-external-help situation. First: visit all vocations to collect the meat, potions and runes. Then:
If you're a pro mage: sell the meat and buy a shovel to access the skeletons, then do the waves as on the video :)
Otherwise: choose a knight, sell the meat, your rope, and boots to buy an Axe (12 atk) for 20 gp. Head in any direction towards the shore, use the spell every 6 seconds on multiple mobs (this is why we collected all the potions). Focus on Striders util you drop a decent weapon. Use the restoration at leveling up to your advantage. With PACC you should be done in less than half an hour even if you're unlucky (Striders drop ANY decent weapon with ~20% in total).
If you don't care about a pure run and there is a rope laying on the floor, then sell it and get a Sabre for 25 gp.
