The icon of Tibia is one of the most traditional things related to Tibia:

However, how did this guy ended up being the symbol of the game? This is an old outfit or what? I don't remember about a retro outfit with metal shoulderpads. Tibia characters looked like this back in the day? I would like to know.

The metal shoulderpads remind me a bit of the GM-outfits but there's not much else in resemblance.

Hi! So, sadly there's no intrincate or cool story behind the chosing of this icon, other than being the representation of the nostalgia of old school players. It's based on the old basic sprite for the basic Tibia outfit that existed back in the days.

I asked a few fansite owners and really old school players and about the colour picking for this, Ed Lu, admin and owner of Tibiart.com.ve told me he asked Rejana about it and she said the red shirt responds to the shield and banner of Regensburg, the city where CipSoft has its headquarters, though I can't confirm this information.

Hey, that was an amazing answer! Wasn't expecting a reference about the city where Tibia originated! Regensburg colors? Makes sense! Here is the flag and coat of arms by the way: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regensburg
