What means to set up a team defense when engaging in a PvP battle with another team?

No matter what server you play, you may (theoretically) face some PvP sometimes and it is not impossible that it can involve different teams fighting each other.

Knowing that, what means when a team wants to set up a defense or "def" against other team? What should you do together with your allies to maintain that position and what should be done from there? What are the roles for it?

I think It depends of the world:

• Retro open PvP: they can set defended blocking the entrance to areas, if the entrance is small enough to place high eks which won't get killed normally. Placing a lot of low level characters also works as far as nobody kill them all.
• Open PvP:  you can get into some hole that closes after your team are in, and stack people on the entrance; you can use Magic wall in red Mode with low levels characters to avoid anyone to enter a trap; you could use NPCs in certain areas with 1sqm that won't be able to push if people takes the spots around them.
