This question take paladins lvl 300+ as medium and  lvl 600+ as high.

Paladins used to take advantage from higher lvls mobs killing them from distance at lower lvls than usual but happens that now there aren't too many higher lvl mobs who can be beated only for paladins of their lvls (Except for bosses but u can't live hunting them).

Worst it seems that a paladin is so far more efficient hunting with diamonds something "of their lvl" more than hunting something for higher lvls. All this to the point that seems like being a single target hunter isn't longer an option to hunt so u bond ur character to fullboxing for the rest of its life.

So this question have to be done:

  • Once reached medium lvl it is the gap between fullbox/diamond hunts and single target hunts so big that If a paladin instead of investing their money/charms/imbues to get things to improve their survivability/set (for aoe/fullbox hunts); invest that into improving their damage (for solo hunts)wouldn't obtain similar results?

I would love to make this question opinion-based because is too much interesting to see how feel people about this way to hunt, but that also could lost the focus of the question, Yet if someone have tried a place/a hunt comparing the spot between single target and full-boxing or even better someone have tested with specific items a hunt which compete with the most efficients full-boxing ones  it would be nice to read the stats provided.

Also this question is oriented to higher lvls because is the point where there are less inconsistences

there are several keypoints now:

-diamonds arrow are a lot more expensive, so profit at low lvl paladin isn't that much as used to be.
-crossbows and bosses are a LOT more worthy in this season of the game than several hunts in terms of profit (medium lvl player).
-diamonds seems simply unbeatable on terms of exp, there aren't proofs of anyone till the moment obtaining the same results or closer doing target hunts no matter the monster (and specially due there aren't enough spaces for target hunts)

hmm if I understood the question, you're asking if is damage is better than survivability for hunting medium/hight respawns yes? if that so, is pretty hard to get survivability without damage, like all falcons items, gnome items for paladin give damage + defenses, but for example plasma rings/amulets I think I only use them if the spawn is easy enough to be handled with exura/ exura gran san, if i have to use ultimate spirits to keep me alive, I immediately switch to defensive amulets/rings.

no no no. i meant using single target (crossbow+spectrals) instead of using expansive/aoe (bow+diamonds), because when u go aoe in fullbox u required a lot of "core" things like parry/dodge or full physic resist set or things like that and how so different are the stats (profit/timewaste/exp) between them

Hunting with bow+Diamonds, doesnt mean to fullbox. I mean, you can hunt 5 at a time, which imcreases your chances of surviving, and you Will for sure increase this way the exp/h you would be doing if you were using crossbow+spectral

yeah, hunting with arrows would do more exp, even with x5 mobs hunts, the idea of the post was to focused on aoe hunts vs single target hunts, i mean for example now exists "perfect shot" and elemental damage on ammo, and maybe even with all that the hunt with aoe would be more worthy on every aspect:

hunts for loot
hunts for exp
Teamhunts

only pvp/boss seems worthy with bolts, so the point of the question if is to know if there's not any way to take apporach target hunts to be useful as average aoe hunts
