How to advertise correctly on Official Tibia Boards?

Question

Basically, how do I advertise an item available to sell, a fan-made event or a raffle without getting the risk of being banned/deleted by spam? What are the hints to make it work there without any risk to the poster? Noob characters for posting are recommended?

I never did this and I'm nervous that it might put in risk my account if I do.

The way I usually did it was contact Cipsoft and ask for permission to advertise it, and ask where I should advertise it. They don't always allow it, which is a bit of a pain. If it's a fan-made event, as a workaround you could ask several of your friends to each make a post on their world.

What I would also recommend is sending a message to a number of fansites, so they can advertise your event for you. It usually helps reach a crowd that spend a lot of time on the fansites, and those people tend to be more interested in events as well.

Kind of depends on what kind of event you're hosting. If it's a roleplaying or real life event, I'd definitely recommend TibiaRoyal.

CipSoft is generally quite helpful in suggesting ways to advertise such things. I usually just e-mailed them at the support address, as it's usually forwarded to someone who can help out.
