One of the new bosses coming with the Winter Update 2023 is Mitmah Vanguard.

The boss is not very complex for players around level 500 or more but it does cause really strong energy damage.

How do we defeat it? What are good tips and tricks to avoid "accidents"?

Mitmah Vanguard is an easy boss to defeat once you have the correct gear and elemental protection.

His main source of damage is his Energy Doom that hits from 6000 to 7000 if you are not wearing any protection.

List of equipment that will help you defeating Mitmah Vanguard:

  • Prismatic Ring, Prismatic Necklace
  • Void Boots, Tiara of Power
  • Mages and druids can equip the items that already comes with Energy Protection: Dream Shroud, Gnome Legs, Gnome Helmet, Nightmare Boots
  • Paladins can equip the enchanted Pendulet, Gnome Armor

Defeating the boss:

  1. Once your team pulls the lever you will encounter Mitmah Vanguard and some creatures (Mitmah Scouts, Mitmah Seer and a Iks Yapunac), focus on killing the creatures and then you can start killing the boss.
  2. There is two main aspects involving this boss: area rooting and the energy doom. The boss will announce before each aspect comes up
    1. For the rooting, Mitmah Vanguard will say the words "FEAR THE CURSE!" and 3-5 seconds after that he will use a root spell that covers almost his entire screen.
    2. Following the rooting his next mechanic is his Energy Doom, which will be announced with the words "NOW TREMBLE" and just like the rooting after a few seconds he will use his doom.
      1. Keep in mind that before he does his Doom there is a change where he can teleport to another area of the room and then use the spell. And every time he teleports he is going to heal from 2500 to 5000 hit points.
    3. The rooting can be easily avoided but the Energy Doom is tricky because the boss can teleport before using it but if the team is using the protective gear everyone will be fine and able to kill the boss easily every day.

Energy and death protection are very important here. Make sure you have on the appropriate EQ since the boss has a mean Energy UE that can do 4k-6k damage. Mages should stay on mana shield incase the boss UEs.

I haven't had any issues with the boss changing targets other than when it teleports which is something you'll have to be careful with.

Most importantly, you can stand behind the barricades in the room which will block the bosses attacks. In the image below, you can see the root effect as the white haze and how the barricades don't have the effect in the sqm behind it. The boss is to the SW of me in the image below.

I hope this helps!

If you are alone and you are a mage or RP attack from a distance and if you are a mage go in utamo because when teleporting he hits a 5k hit approx. Be careful because he does a spell that root. I usually kill him as a duo ek - ed and there is no problem, the ek tanky and the rest full sd. He has very little life
