Hey,

Further to some readings I am conducting into Tibia's history and lore, I stumbled upon this insert from Tibia wiki which details the following:

"Originally, gamemasters were called wizards. For a long time they had no special GM character at the time and were not invincible, meaning that when they had to evaluate a case of a troublemaker, they were risking their very own lives during that "quest".

With the new account system, CipSoft was able to bestow a whole account the status of a gamemaster instead of doing it manually to a specific character.

After the implementation of new gameworlds and the premium account system, CipSoft provided Gamemasters with a new, invincible tool character, which had no vocation, no carrying capacity, and was always level 2."

In particular: 'For a long time they had no special GM character at the time and were not invincible, meaning that when they had to evaluate a case of a troublemaker, they were risking their very own lives during that "quest".'

Based on this reading, I was wondering if there is any recorded cases of a Game Master of old being killed? If so, could you provide as much information as possible surrounding their death.

I can't say there is, but I doubt that. There are barely any recordings of Tibia from that time because that was before July 2001, and recording your screen back then was rather complicated and resource demanding.

Most game masters back in the day, at the time the concept was developed, were voluntary players who played Tibia on their own character, without any special accounts or special characters... It's possible that those people who acted as game masters died in their characters while doing their duty... But as I said, they were just normal players with the function of "game masters", and who had some special commands to make announcements on the servers, and impose penalties on players... But as they played on their own characters, I don't know if their death would count as a GM death. But when CIP provided special characters with GM in the name, they were invincible.

So I can tell you that it is highly unlikely for a Game Master (Those with GM on their name) to have been killed on Tibia, as Game Masters are typically given a special status in the game and have abilities that normal players do not possess. Most of them are not even targetable.

The closest occurrence to what you are asking about was when an employee of CipSoft (at a time when CipSoft didn't even exist yet) turned into Ferumbras and made the "first invasion" of Ferumbras that we have records of. However, he technically wasn't a Game Master and was killed in an epic battle as Knightmare sayd on he's interview.
