It seems that symbols on Efreet’s and  Marid’s  are the same. The same can be found on the bosses for Djinn race. Do they have any meaning?

Hello,

I will start it off by saying Tibia is a game full of symbolism, hidden marks or links to different cultures or symbols from the past related to some divinity. Let's not forget, for example, the old art from the 7.x client - it was a very "common" discussion back then as to what the "Mantus" written on one of the walls (1) was supposed to mean. With a little research, you find out that this name is related to some old "God" linked to gambling and soul stealing, which... kind of makes sense in a game where addiction to playing is not an uncommon thing.

But anyway, when it comes to items, it's also not uncommon to find references to different things and symbols on them. For example, "book of necromantic rituals" (2), the "ancient stone" (3), the "horoscope" (4), or even the "mastermind shield" (5). What are all those symbols suppose to mean? It's possible that they're there only for roleplay and don't really have any meaning. But... do they have any meaning? Who knows, probably not, but the meaning of the symbol on the shield is well known.

Those aren't the only items that have identifiable symbols though. The Griffin Shield has an obvious reference to the creature that it was named upon (Griffin). And there's one youtuber (6) that made one analysis in a video linking the fact that it wasn't placed in Demona with the dwarven axe for no reason. It's just a hypothesis, but, if taken into account, it might probably mean that some symbols are related to hidden quests, creatures or lore inside the game.

Anyways! With all that being said, we can consider that some symbols might be related to deeper meanings and some might not. When it comes to the djinns, specifically the Efreets and the Marids, it's possible that the symbols on their bodies are parts of some language related to their origins. I would guess the Hebrew Alphabet (7), you can see some connection between the symbols and the letters. The first two letters, from the shoulder down, are similar to the "Shin" letters, while the other two might be, respectively, "Aleph" and "Khaf". It does make some sense if we take into account the fact that the Djinns are supposed to be within the arabic culture - and both cultures (hebrew and arabic) are related to each other in some ways. The symbol on the chest is hard to identify though.

And if not Hebrew, I could see some similarity between those letters and the Arabic Alphabet (8) itself, even though personally the hebrew one looks closer to it for me. In the picture we can see that the first two letters on the arm are closer to the "Ayn" letters from the alphabet, while the other two are similar to "Daad" and "Haa".

I dont speak neither arabic or hebrew, but trying to come up with some translation to what those letters combined could possibly be I got some results that pointed to either "I love you" or "Nest" in arabic or in Hebrew I got something weird which is "Shashkad"? I'm not sure if it has a meaning at all, but there's a type of sword called "Shashka" which is not related to Djinn culture at all.

Both are just wild guesses! But it's interesting to just explore the possibility between the world of Tibia. It might be just for roleplay, or it might have some hidden meaning, who knows right?
