After finally being on when the Lumberjack Mini World Change occurred, I was curious. Is it simply there to get a single achievement or is there more to it?

I talked to  and he mentions that his family is being held by Bandits that ask him to send them wood. He doesnt know where they hide except just outside of the Plains of Havoc. I talked to as he seemed to be the obvious choice but couldnt get him to react to anything I said on the matter.

It seems like a lot of trouble to have this Mini World Change just for such a simple achievement. Has anyone else found anyhting interesting to do with this event?

Any help much appreciated

It's really interesting question. I wonder if there is something more to it.

Rottin Wood

The first thing that comes to my mind when it comes to the Lumberjack mini-world change is that Rotten Wood and Chip could possibly be related. Have you ever heard of the saying, "chip off the old block" or "chip of the same block?" This saying means that the individual is closely related to their parent. So Chip could be a nickname for him because he looks exactly like his possible father. Rottin Wood is wearing Hunter outfit Addon 1+2. Chip is wearing the basic Hunter outfit. When you tell Queen Eloise, Chip or Rottin Wood she says the same thing, "Queen Eloise: Yes, I know. I've sent some of my amazons to get rid of him." Then the next day after you whistle blow or tell on him or maybe just after the world changes ends there's amazons where Chip was and the Queen won't respond to his or Rottin Wood's name anymore.

Maybe Chips name is Chip because of the saying, "chip, chop" which means hurry and he seems rushed and too busy chopping away. Or could his name be related to wood chips. So this theory can be out the window but I don't know he just doesn't talk about his wives or kids or anything in detail he won't tell us anything like he's hiding more of a secret.

I've spoken to Rottin Wood, Chip, Queen Eloise, and King Tibianus and no one seems to go further into anything. But isn't it strange you say Carlin to Rottin Wood and he says, "Rottin Wood: Carlin? Never been there." YEAH okay, Rottin Wood!

My next theory is that the item Small Whistlesmall whistle could be a possible reward from the Lumberjack mini-world change. How is it that this mini-world change and this item appeared in the same update? There's an achievement called, "whistle-blower" from completing this mini-world change, oddly enough. But this is something you only get when you snitch on Chip to Queen Eloise. Could you get the small whistle by using something on a specific tree? Does it randomly spawn? Do you have to say the right words to a particular NPC? Do you need tools to make this specific whistle?

I just think there's more to this mini-world change, however, it could be unfinished... or just this is the end of it and we're overthinking everything.

This Mini World Change happens in the fields between Ab'Dendriel and Carlin. Near Carlin, Lumberjack Chip is felling the forest to save his family from the hands of bandits. When we talk to him, we can go to Queen Eloise to inform her.

Mention Chip to Queen Eloise to get the achievement Whistle-Blower. You can sell wood (for 50gp) to this NPC after conversation with Queen.

Note: You need to talk to Chip before talking to Queen Eloise, or else she will just reply with How would you know? when you mention him. I also found little tip - the 2nd mission from the Secret Service Agent (CBG) is called "Codename: Lumberjack" - it can be a solution or tip but in my opinion it's still one of many unfinished mysteries by cipsoft.

Unfortunately the Lumberjack Codename is simply because it involves getting the Rotting Heart of a Tree from the Black Knight Villa
