Why can't you use smart mode on soft boots in the action bar?

I know you can use smart mode for rings in the action bar when assigning an action key. But why aren't I able to use smart mode on my soft boots? If you have multiple pairs of soft boots it doesn't seem to matter but if you have one pair it does matter. I know this is designed this way but I'd just like to know why it disqualifies soft boots under smart mode as it's quite similar to a ring I think anyway. Thank you!

You cannot do this do Soft Boots because when it is equipped it works as a different item.

When you equip a ring it stays the same item, if you put it in the action bar it will work despite it being equipped or not.

Soft boots acts as if its a different item when you put it on. So, if you want to use "smart mode" on soft boots, you need to have it on 2 action bar spots:

• 1 for when its not equipped
• 1 for when its equipped
