So, every now and then we get some Orcs invasion in Thais. We see a bunch of guards near the gates, but they don't even repond to the invasions. Are they weak, lazy or just oblivious to the world around them? laugh

Why don't they help against the orcish threats?

Obs. : Hypothetical answers are preferred since we all know why NPCs don't respond to creatures. Look at the question RPGwise.

They firmly stand their ground and will shield themselves while signalling and shouting to citizens protect themselves against these powerful invasions. They are wise enough to wait to more armed denizens that will sooner or later pick the fight against the green menace, since they focus more usually on low level action, like trying to make robbers and knaves be away from the city (that's why we don't see declared Bandits and Smugglers walking around Thais... On the surface a t least). It is debatable on how long they would survive on a hypothetical orc domination of the city, but they would certainly focus all their strength of combat on a last stand on the King's chamber along with the powerful Royal personal guards there.

Maybe it's not an invasion, just many orcs visiting Thais, right? Haha

They are not paid enough to deal with actual problem. And as we remember from the inquisition quest, some of them can't be trusted. ;)
