Why is my flower pot withering?

I have in my house beautiful flower pot  but it withers after every week .   I noticed that my neighbor was offline last month, but the flower pots in his house didn't need water.

My questions is:

Why is my flower pot  withering?

To create an immortal flower you need ice flower seeds and use it on a fully grown flower. Ice flower seeds can be obtained by using Ice Flowers during the Thawing Mini World Change. It can be planted in an Empty Flower Pot which will grow into a winterblossom flower. Also the first time you combine the ice seeds with a fully grown plant you will earn the Achievement Preservationist.

Why can't I put my flower pot on the market?

Only immortal flowers can be put on the market
