What is the best non-wand/rod weapon to improve defense on mages?

Wondering if it's Shiny Blade / Magic Sword?

You see a blessed sceptre (Atk:47, Def:21 +3).

It can only be wielded properly by players of level 75 or higher.

It weighs 39.00 oz.

2 Imbuement slots 

The blessed scepter and sov have the same modifier (+3) and can both be imbued by the same amount (2 slots), so they are equivalent - except the SoV is way more expensive.

So having an sov or blessed scepter will both increase the def of your shield/spellbook by 3.

Blessed sceptre also weighs less than SOV

For my druid i use Magic Sword  (2 slot for imbue). I know that many people are using them

Yes, because Magic sword have 2 slots, so you can put there crit+mana lich, Shiny Blade have just one slot.
