Any clues on the altar in the Mother of Scarabs Lair?

I've wanted to find out about this for a while. So, in the Mother of Scarabs lair, if you go the deepest level, you can find an altar with a note close to it: "Oh Mother of Scarabs, show me your secrets! I offer my blood and bone, my flesh and soul to you. Feast upon my heart, drink from my skull, divulge your darkest mysteries to me."

As part of my research, I tried to follow the inscription statement sort of literally: I gathered bones, blood, meat and a I think it was a soul orb, and put those elements on the coal basins next to the altar (I think I even tried a different order in which I placed the items on the basins). I was expecting that maybe a teleport would open up, but nothing happened. I wanted to at least try it.

So, has anybody got any information, theories or heard any rumors about this place? I'm curious about it.

I think it may be part of Cartography 101 quest.

As said Nemesis, its a part of Cartography 101 Quest. You have to go there with the map which you obtain in that quest and use it near altar.

Rotem Valos: Also, another scarab-infested system of caverns can be found there, we don't know where exactly, but rumour has it that someone has erected an altar in it. So please try and find proof of this. ...

Use your Adventurer's Map standing next to the altar, and it will complete that part of the quest.

I was hoping there was more to it than the cartography 101 quest, like an access to a secret room or something even more mysterious. Anyway, thank you all for the answers.
