The MS is pretty much a lost cause as it'll never outdamage paladins, moreso now that ferumbras lasts few turns and thus you can't have the lucky chance of getting your hits in where others don't.
As a druid, if you want to win the ferumbras, you'll have to "abuse" the participation system a bit.
Participation in a boss is constructed from damage taken, damage given, and heals performed. While they tweaked it a bit to reduce the participation from healing, being in a top spot and spamming mass heal is key. Be wary tho, if you're healing a person in a PVP situation, and that person kills someone else, you'll get part of their unjustified kills. And while you'd usually not be able to heal people in PVP situation, you will actually do it if you're in PVP with them, so if someone attacks you, stop doing mas res inmediately to avoid unwanted unjustified kills which could be absolutely fatal for your equipment.
Damage taken, at level 500 ferumbras shouldn't kill you, so you could focus on going on hp (magic shield doesn't count for participation) and reduce your resistance to fire and other elements that ferumbras use.
Lastly, keep your avatar ready for when ferumbras is low hp (since its resistance goes down with time), and bring a kooldown aid, and when you calculate that you can get it down, do first avatar, on last turn use frigo UE, kooldown aid, repeat avatar, repeat frigo UE.
All the while using SDs on ferumbras since death damage works well on it (ice is 80%).
If you perform perfectly and have some (a lot of) luck, you can snatch a hat from some paladin who only has to click target and spam gran con since their gran con wheel is utterly broken (like everything else in that vocation).
