Do Influenced creatures spawn influenced or they are converted?

If I'm trying to get a certain monster influenced (droping dust for exaltation forge) I'm not sure if I should be killing the spawn or checking it regularly so ... Do influenced creatures spawn influenced or they spawn normal and suddenly convert and get influenced?

they spawn, so you need to kill the spawn in order to make the monster spawn again influenced.

"Influenced creatures have a low chance of spawning instead of a regular creature. Differently from fiendish ones, influenced creatures will remain influenced until a player kills it or until a Server Save takes place."
