Is the Tyrn just a boss or there is a story behind?

It was added to the game in the Summer Update of 2013 as part of the first group of bosses with a new artificial intelligence and Reward System.
This could mean that the lore around Tyrn is not well-documented. However, based on the official information available, Tyrn seems to be primarily a gameplay challenge.

I have not found evidence in books or conversations with NPCs. I even tried to have a dialogue with Admiral Wyrmslicer, who, by the surname, one would imagine might have faced this cruel creature, but I got no response.
