Hello, guys! Lately I've been trying to improve my hunts by learning when is it useful to use blood rage.

As we know, the use of blood rage increases by 35% your melee skills but makes your char neglect its defense, not being able to block any attacks and increasing in 15% the damage taken by mobs.

So, logically, it is a spell that you should not use always, but when the perks exceeds the drawbacks. Does anyone here has any tips to figure out if it'll be useful on a hunt before really testing it? (Too afraid that one misful use leads me to temple)

It's the same for RPs with the spell sharpshooter (utito tempo san): you use it when you have enough level to handle the damage.

I think as a knight you want to use it as often as possible however it can be deadly in the wrong situation, so it's fair to have some points in mind:

- Is your EK normally able to tank the amount of creatures without utito?
- Do you have a healer with you?
- Is it worth utito'ing? (will that generate more waste?)

There are probably other points to think about here but ultimately it's a matter of knowing your character power and strength, and knowing the creatures/bosses you're facing. It show come naturally as you get used to playing the character.

I think something to consider as well is the imbuements you have, increasing your damage will also increase the mana and life leech which helps counter the received damage.

As an Elite Knight I use Blood Rage in those specific situations:

- 5 and more mobs on me
- when I don't have to exeta res (because both of these spells share GCD (global cooldown) of 2 seconds
- when I'm sure that I can afford to lower my defense

That's basically it as of me.

Personally, I’m a fan of this spell. It does improve the experience gain by a lot but you do use a lot more mana. So void imbuements are a must.

As to when to use it, it will obviously depend on several things like the respawn you’re hunting at (definitely not a good idea to use it if the mobs have mana drain), if you’re solo or you have an ED, your set, charms, etc. But you could start by testing it when you’re not fully boxed and mobs are already in red hp.  With time you’ll use it without even thinking too much about it cause it pretty much becomes part of the spell rotation.
