During umbral creation, does using an item that has failed before increase your chances at being successful?

Hello all,

I have a question regarding umbral creation: while trying to transform umbral item (umbral -> umbral master) there's significant chance it will fail and revert to crude umbral. Is it possible to improve the crude and successfully transform it to master after that? Anyone has any experience with that? I know it should be possible in theory, but just wondering if the transformation might be somehow tied to item itself or getting master from umbral is completely random, no matter the previous attempts. Has any of you successfully transformed umbral, for which the process previously failed?

There is no relation between previous items when you try to upgrade the umbral.

If you fail 100 times to upgrade to umbral master your next try (101) have the same chance as if you use a new item created from 0 with 0 previous attempt.
