Do I waste time on my prey hunt while wearing my firewalker boots?

If I want to start doing my achievement, "Firewallker" but I have active preys, do they spend walking on fire?

Or should I wait to use them first?

yes, you need the fire to hurt you in order to have the achievement

For what I know, you only spend the damage reduction if you walk on fire, because it triggers every time you have battle.
