How does usurpers with Ancient Lion Knight spawn works?

I was killing a few times Ancient Lion Knight and it sometimes spawns with a few Usurpers around, sometimes without any, and sometimes with plenty of them. It even happened that during the battle where there was plenty of them- suddenly Usurpers disappeared (the boss remained). How does their spawn works or what does it depend on (I believe it has to do something with battles with the Drume)? I believe understanding this better would help me to kill this boss without taking a lot of risk...

The Ancient Lion Knight's spawn itself has nothing special. It respawns every 3-5 minutes depending on the number of online players. Nothing makes it disappear besides, of course, it walking away from its spawn home (which is a particularly small area for the Lion Knight).

The Usurpers there, however, do have some special mechanic. Whenever someone enter Drume's area, many Usurpers around Bounac will "disappear" because, in fact, they have moved to the fight to aid Drume against Kesar and the player(s) there. After this battle ends, Usurpers will start respawning.
