With full speed set, speed spell, and mount, which is the minimun level for each vocation to run in these respawns:

  • Ferumbras (main respawn)
  • Roshamuul
  • Library
  • Skeleton cave of Darashia

** I already checked the wikia info about the speed break points and tiles speed, aswell as the posts in here about it, but still find it confussing. So I wonder if somebody could give mr a concrete answer.

Thanks

So, you can find every speed breakpoint in this table. By "bugging speed" most people mean reaching speed breakpoint #16. All that is left to do is to choose one of the tiles in the table and calculate the character level to reach that speed. Some of the most important tiles are:

  • Towns and depots: 592
  • Roshamuul: 696
  • Darashia (and also some parts at Falcon Bastion, near the Dazzled Leaf Golem): 813
  • Ferumbras: 1092
  • I'm not sure about Library and Deep Desert, but I have some evidence they are 1258.

Now, the tricky part which is calculating your speed. The general formula is as follows:

SPEED = SPELL_MODIFIER(BASE_SPEED) +  ITEMS

What this formula means is that every speed spell (e.g., utani gran hur) is applied only to your base speed and item and mount bonuses are added later. Your base speed is calculated as follows:

BASE_SPEED = LEVEL + 109

Some of the spell modifiers:

  • Utani hur: 1.3*BASE_SPEED - 12
  • Utani gran hur: 1.7*BASE_SPEED - 28

I don't know what the knight's and paladin's formulas are. Those I found at the wiki seem to be wrong.

Looking at item bonuses, the readily available items for mages are:

  • Time Ring: +30
  • Void Boots: +30
  • Grasshopper Legs: +10
  • Swan Feather Cloak: +10
  • Tiara of Power: +20
  • Beetle Necklave: +2
  • Mount: +10

This gives us a total of +112 in speed bonuses. Keep in mind that you can't use Time Rings at Ferumbras, since you need Dwarven Rings. Therefore, your total bonus at this place is only +82. Now, there are some speed items with specific restrictions:

  • Oriental Shoes imbued with Powerful Swiftness: +45, instead of +30. You can't imbue these anymore.
  • Magical Torch: +25. Only available in November.
  • Shrunken Head Necklace: +10, instead of +2. Rare drop from a rare boss. Also very expensive.

Now we have all the tools to calculate the level needed to reach a certain speed breakpoint. For a mage using Utani Gran Hur, the formula looks like:

SPEED_REQUIRED = 1.7*(LEVEL + 109) - 28 + ITEMS

Isolating the LEVEL variable, we have:

LEVEL = (SPEED_REQUIRED + 28 - ITEMS)/1.7 - 109

If this mage is wearing its readily available speed set (+112) and wants to reach the speed breakpoint at Roshamuul surface (696), the final formula is:

LEVEL = (696 + 28 - 112)/1.7 - 109 = 251

Similar conditions results in level 190 for Towns, 320 for Darashia, 502 for Ferumbras (without Time Ring) and 582 for the 1258 tile, which I believe is for Library and Deep Desert.

There is no final answer for calculating level requirements for a certain speed breakpoint. My answer showed an example of how you can do it in a systematically way. You could be wearing only parts of the speed set, could be using utani hur or the spells I don't know the formulas and I haven't even mentioned rounding issues. However, calculating your own speed breakpoints pays off. You can adjust your set accordingly, making hunts and bosses much smoother. For instance, even though the 813 speed doesn't cover the whole way from the boat to Oberon, it makes some of the harder parts much safer.

Talking about the bug: As I know this work in any level, sure with more level do you see more change but as "bug" the level don't look as a requirement.

Now on respaws:

- Ferumbras

+400

- Roshamuul

200+

- Library

300+

- Skeleton Cave of Darashia

250+

ummm, nop, pretty sure it matters, as the vocation does (since rp has no utani gran hur), I am lvl 500 rp and I don't bug speed in any of those respawns.
