What is the history of Champion's Cup?

I noticed that it was possible to win recently a Champion's Cup  in the TibiaHome contest. As far as I know, this item was only available in soccer contests. Anyone know the stories related to this item?

The item Champion's Cup - just as the Bronze and Silver Cups of Honour - could always be awarded in fansite contests. If you check the English TibiaWiki's page on the Champion's Cup, you can see it was awarded in a contest held by TibiaCubix, a fansite that does not exist anymore for 5 years.

I only kept record of the Fansite Soccer Cups due to their uniqueness. TibiaWiki, in general, does not keep track of ordinary fansite contests and their prizes. Lists would be too big now, and many original owners wouldn't have the items anymore, or would have been renamed, or would be long retired, or wouldn't even exist anymore. Regarding the information on the amount of each contest prize, I see it being used to set prices on these items which were meant to be just rewards in their concept (not high-value items), despite being impossible to keep track if all of them still exist (they might be deleted with the character that owns them and we would never be sure about that).

I am curious why the Champion's Cups was used in other contests like not related to the theme of Fansite Soccer Cup if it was created for that. It looks like you can still get it from various contests.

As any other fansite contest prize, the champion's cup was discussed and agreed between the fansite's admin and CipSoft. There is no way to know the reason behind each choice. It could've been the admin's idea since the contest conception because they saw it would fit the constest, or the admin could've picked it when they saw it on the contest prize list.

It's great that there is a chance to get it, the price will probably not be that high anymore.

The cups of honour are in the prize list as long as I can remember. They are just not picked for contests much often because they don't fit to non-sport-related contests. Nothing has changed recently on this regard, so I wouldn't expect a change on the amount of theses items and, consequently, their price.

From what I noticed recently, there were definitely two competitions with these cups, I'm not sure if not three.

So I actually own one on Calmera, I won it playing for the TibiaNews team with a few close friends. We played in the first two competitions, placing 2nd then 1st. Everyone was level 8, we had to pick up a bag that weighed our exact total capacity to ensure no speed boosts were being used, and there were 4 players on each team. We were really good, though TibiaMx just beat us the first year. We came back and kicked ass the second. There was a third soccer cup, but TibiaNews had since dissolved and many of my friends (including me) had quit. I have my trophies visible in a tiny house in Carlin on Calmera next to the depot, where they’ll stay forever

What a beautiful story! I own 2 soccer trophies I purchased 1 directly from someone who participated as well he said it looks better in a house rather than his depot. Everyone will forever miss Tibianews!
