Increasing magic level for knights and paladins look like a good way to improve it's skills, as it will increase the power of attack and healing spells by a lot.

Which items can be used to increase the magic level for paladins and knights?

Are they worth it or is it better to use a different kind of equipment?

So, you can use the dishes, that trululu said, before the hunt, which help a lot to heal and to deal damage with magical attacks (runes and mas san over all), and you could also use certain equipment.

For paladin these equipment could help you:

  • Dark whisper helmet: I got it imbued with basic epiphany which grants you +1 magic level With this helmet you can also use the other slot for mana leech or distance fighting.
  • Falcon coif: as the dark whisper, it has 2 slots, and one of them can be used to imbue intricate epiphany (+2 magic level) This one can be used at knights as well
  • Ring of blue plasma: gives +1 magic level and distance fighting
  • Collar of blue plasma: gives +2 magic level and distance fighting

It totally worth it.

For hunting bosses I carry all it with the dark whispers imbued with distance fighting. To hunt alone running and getting trap eventually I use it with mana leech and mlvl.

Hope I was helpful

Talking about items to increase the Magic Level on Knights and Paladins the only way I know is use Tropical Fried Terrorbird (+5 Magic Levels by 1 hour) or Tropical Marinated Tiger (+3 Magic Levels by 1 hour).

At the end, on Knights the focusing is the life, the survivence and reduction of damage and the Paladins, is the damage with physical attacks from distance. So its better focusing in this facts and not in the magic level at least as priority.

For EK I would agree but there is a reason most high level RPs were using ML imbued royal helmets when it was still possible. 4 ML would increase their damage more than 4 distance would have.

But is better get another stats like Distance and Physical Protection

It actually depends of the way you hunt. If you are the blocker and have the risk of HS, ofc go for physical protection. If not, dealing more damage with the mas san and the runes because of the mlvl, helps you to heal with the life leech, and your healing spells will also heal you more.

To answer your question as to if each item is worth it depends on the user. I would highly recommend making sure your magic level is high so you can deal more damage and heal more. A good tip is also if your using the plasma ring or necklace before it runs out sell it back to the npc for the full price, to make these items really worth it. Hope I helped!
