After a few weeks the Vocation Adjustments ended, and I still have some doubts!

Can anyone know how exactly the new Magic Shield works? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if this question can be answered accurately until vocation balance is implemented. CIP mentioned there could still be further changes before things go live.

You're right. I will leave the question to be answered when Cipsoft has made the final decision.

Best answer

Before the Vocation Adjustments patch on 23 November 2020, the magic shield (utamo vita) was active for 200 seconds (3 minutes 20 seconds). There were no other criteria and the spell would not expire any sooner.

After the patch, the magic shield will expire (break) if at least one of those criteria is met

Additionally, the magic shield can now only be cast every 14 seconds. Casting the magic shield when it's still active refreshes the time back to 60 seconds and resets the damage absorbed by shield to zero.

Hi Ellotris, I would also add that Magic shield can be activated by spell and a Magic Shield Potion (Druid and sorc) and Energy Ring  no ( Knight and paladin) :)

The utamo vita will protect (block mana points instead of hitpoints ) a total of 40%of your magic level and 30% of your level (dont know the actual formula of how this is calculated)
In total on my own experience it is something close to a third of your mana if im not wrong.(even though is a separated bar from your mana it will still consume your mana)

The cooldown is 14 seconds and last 60 seconds but the mana shield bar can be refilled by a mana shield potion that cost 1 silver token and it is bought with the npc that is located in the adventurer's guild - Cledwyn

https://tibia.fandom.com/wiki/Mana_Shield_Potion

They also added a new spell that cancels the mana shield and it is "exana vita"

The impact of your level has been raised by more than 16%, and the impact of your magic level by 40%

The impact of your level has been raised by an additional 14%

I'm having a very hard time following your answer. What does it mean a mana shield protects 40% of your magic level and 30% of your level? Is it when you die you lose less magic level and level?

sorry to hear that let me see if i can explain it better, the resulting mana shield is based on 40% of your magic level and 30% of your level it doesnt protect your level or ml when you die, tibia in the test basically told that but didnt explain very well on how it was calculated, on my own experience the resulting mana shiled is something close to a third of your full mana only and if you want to refill that mana shield need to use a mana shield potion

just added a clarification hope this will help other to understand what i tried to say

If anything else is hard to understand just say it and i will try to explain it better, thanks for the suggestion

The 40% and 30% is a percentage of what exactly? The level/magic level?
So if I have level 100, it will protect only 40% of 100 = 40 mana points?

that my friends is something i cannot answer since cipsoft itself didnt say how exactly that was calculated they only said it was 40% of your magic level and 30% of your level that is why i clarify that in my own experience is something close to a third of your full mana pool

If this information gets to me i will gladly change it but so far i think cipsoft or anyone else have said how it works

An example would be if 40%+30%= X and being X in my case is around 7000 Mana Shield Points then its 40%+30%= 7000 now im not good at math so i dont know how to turn those % to an actual number or logic of any kind
