How do PvP controls work during a war on Optional PvP?

Question

The last time I played PvP was before many of the new controls and modes were added. I was wondering how each mode works and if it differs at all on Optional PvP. Mainly, if I have dove mode on would that prevent me from damaging members of my guild and the guild I am at war with?
