When a plant dies and you water it again, will it grow the same flower again?

Question

If I have a lizard tongue, for example, and it dies. Then I start to water it again, will it grow another lizard tongue or another plant?

After you water a withered plant it goes back to third stage so it will  stay the same kind of plant just not in last sage.

Bonus: if you water a withered plant back to the last stage it will count for the achievement green thumb.

If it dies you'll end up with an empty flower pot Nothing will grow in that except for a Winterblossom   if you use a Ice Flower seed  on the empty pot.
