What is best "Book" for ED/MS for Fire Library?

I have noticed that lots of people prefer Book of Lies rather than Spirit of Guide in the Fire Library. Both of them can be imbued with Fire. Where Book of Lies has 1 more to Def than Spirit, Spirit of Guide has additional 6% protection energy which is useful on the way to the Fire Library. 

Has Book of Lies gives so much difference there ? Considering big gap between prices, I wonder if it is worth of the investment. 

You see a spirit guide (Def:17, magic level +4, protection energy +6%).

It can only be wielded properly by sorcerers and druids of level 180 or higher.

It weighs 18.00 oz.

You see a book of lies (Def:18, magic level +4).

It can only be wielded properly by sorcerers and druids of level 150 or higher.

It weighs 24.00 oz.

I think the best is the Spirit Guide, because defense +1 is not a big difference, remember that, it is not you who is going to block.
