Is it possible to break a mount item that is a quest reward?

Some mount items you can gain only one per character (like Nail Case or Diapason), my question is if it's possible to break those items when you try to tame their respective creature.

The problem I see: if it's possible, that means that some people can never have a determined mount (sure, they can buy from someone, but still will be more characters than mount items)

Yes it is possible to have  one per character Quest items break when using them to try to train mounts.

Personal experience, I used 3 Diapason's  to train my crystal wolf  . Quest and other rare items like this are the reason people make characters just to make more items so that they are guaranteed to get the reward and/or sell to others to make a profit.
