I was in Dawnport earlier and noticed I needed more potions but didn't have a lot of gold. I know Dawnport is meant for the short-term but what is the best thing to hunt or do to make a profit for the time being? This applies for Dawnport at any level.

For any level because you can only be here under level 20 but I'm currently level 14 on Dawnport

Choose a knight profession, go ahead kill some meadow striders, drop longsword and dawnport is yours. He has enough shield and atk to make sure you easily level up and up. This means you also profit everywhere ;d

You can also choose sorcerer/druid and go search for meadow striders to drop longsword. Using spells as "exori infir vis" or "exori infir tera" with longsword on full attack is the fastest way to skip dawnport. But it has some risk, if you will be unlucky you can waste all potions and don't get the longsword. I have spent a lot of time on dawnport making noob chars and IMO knight with longsword is the best option, the safest one for sure.

I have more than 40 noobs charaters made in Danwport, and the best options to get fast level 8 is Mage, because you dont need any skill to hit every turn.

for lvl uping, you might be right,  but for making money as the question stated, a knight should be a better option specially if you are planning to get out at lvl 20~ dawnport is a huge place specially in new servers where you could do a bit more with a lot less risk nor population that could deal with you, yet idk how much of a fortune can you do at dawnport or if is worth but in either case, a mage is too much of a waste, if any reason lead you to try to generate money in dawnport beside other place, then choose knight or paladin (this one struggle a bit more, but it become a bit more useful than knights due doesn't need to spend as many hours as a knight training distance to actually be worth).
