When will one creature kill another creature?

Sometimes it happens that the monster is killed by another monster. I want to know why? Is there any special reason or can we create the situation when a monster kills another monster?

Reasons why creatures will kill another creature: 

• When a stronger creature needs to push and/or kill a weaker creature to get to you
• When you cast your summon it's a creature, creature's can attack your summon
• To symbolize a war against the creatures
