Do I need to do Feaster of Souls quest to have the Haze mount?

I don't wanna make another mistake like I did with the item for the Gryphon mount, I bought it off the market and asked for a loan mask and I couldn't get it cause it turns out you need to have the quest done for it to work. So can anyone tell me if its the same for this one? I intended to give this out as a valentines present and I really want it to work for him since I know he hasn't done the quest

no, it isn't required. You can just buy an item Spectral Scrap Of Cloth at the market and use. I dropped this item many times, my druid don't have this quest and he can use mount and have now :)
