What is the role of the NPC Librarian at the Secret Library?

There is an NPC in the Library Ice section called "Librarian":

He is immune to every attack, and doesn't seem to do anything.

Is he quest related? Why is he there? There's gotta be a reason for CIP to implement him!

Has anyone ever been able to interact with him?

if he has a secret purpose, people haven't figured it out yet.
luring it to a specific tile, or using an item on the creature is the only interactions that would make sense.

it's very hard to test ideas like this as you require a team to safely explore the library.

As pointed out by other players, Librarian is a creature/monster, not an NPC.

Here is its lore:
As unbelievably as this might sound, the hunting place known as Secret Library is meant to depict a library. That's why it is full of shelves and books. As someone might expect, the creature known as "librarian", in this lore, has the role of the Librarian of the Secret Library. That's why it defends the Library's books when they're attacked by players.

The Librarian uses a mass heal (heals other creatures 550+) therefore I think he's just there to make the floor harder. The creature also deflects damage and obviously can't be killed therefore players have to be smart and take these things into consideration when hunting around the Librarian.

I think you are confused with Librarian (Creature) and Cerebrir (NPC). Both have the same sprite, the Librarian (Creature) don't have any useful thing, the Cerebrir (NPC) can give you some information/lore in the last battle of The Secret Library Quest.

I have spent time trying to kill the Librarian using Ink Blobs and Biting Books and there is no connection there:

There are 6 Ostentatious Bookstands spread around the library:

Some players have tried activating them all at once on a test server.
But it doesn't seem to have any results.

If there are any secrets or hidden quests in library, I believe that the Librarian and the Ostentacious Bookstands would likely be the key. But if there is, no one has discovered anything new since the library was implemented in 2018.

I had a chat to Hunter of Dragoes (tibiawiki admin) about this.
he told me has seen the librarian die on a test server, which means it is vulnerable to something like drown damage.
But there isn't any way for a player to inflict this damage type on the Librarian as far as anyone knows.
This tells me that the Librarian isn't meant to be killed at all, so if there is a quest related to the Librarian maybe it needs to be lured to a specific location/tile.

It's very hard to test this sort of stuff as exploring library solo can get quite expensive if you are not comfortable in there.

The librarian is also very hard to lure, as it runs back to its main spawn location and can only be lured further away with exeta res from either a Knight or a mage's Familiar.

When reflect originally came out (first implementation was the Eldritch Shield).
You could of probably killed the librarian with reflect (the librarian will melee you if you exeta res it).

But, reflect was initially used to kill Deathslicers in ankrahmun which prompted cipsoft to patch the effect on unkillable creatures.
So I don't think that would work anymore either.
