How to Win The Great Food Race?
The whole goal of The Great Food Race mini-game during Orcsoberfest is to get the Wagon to the other side. You need to avoid walking near the creatures because their waves slow you down as well as the slowing squares like sand and tar. My tip to win the Great Food Race is picking up the Ogre Fork, which is at the beginning of the race.
Some people use this fork on the Food Wagon so it can drop meat to distract the Annoying Dog by placing the dog on top of the meat which turns them into an Eating Dog. However, I use it on the Food Wagon when it's slowed to turn the wagon into a Used Food Wagon to remove being slowed. When it's slowed it takes a longer time to go back to normal than just using the fork. I don't care about placing the dog on top of the meat at this can take time away from more than waiting for the cart to speed up again. I find it slows me down by doing this so I like the other method.
Another tip is when possible to walk on stone tiles because they give you more speed. Sometimes you can outrun the dog this way. I like to keep the cart as far away as possible from me so when the dog comes near me I can avoid the wagon getting slowed.
As you continue to play this mini-game you have more practice and you figure out what works for you. Ultimately, this mini-game can become repetitive which is a good thing if you remember the pattern.
I win the race almost always doing this technique, and my friends also have tried this method when I told them and it works for them as well. Keep in mind you can do this mini-game once every 30 minutes. You can do it solo or with up to 3 players. You can win 15, 30, or 45 festive points depending on how many players enter and win the race. For example, if 3 players enter the race and only 1 player wins the whole team gets 15 festive points each, it doesn't matter if you won or not but you had the chance to win 45 festive points each because 3 players entered, however only 1 won.
