Achievement "Interior Decorator" how to get?

Question

I noticed that you need to buy 1k pieces of furniture. Unfortunately it isn't works with only buy. A friend told me to unpack them. How do you think it works when you unpack a piece of furniture a thousand times, or maybe it have to be a thousand other furniture? Do you have any "trustable" furniture with which it works? any tips?

Your friend would be right a few years ago. The achievement was changed from unwrapping to buying 1000 times. Up to this day it still causes some confusion though because many players aren't aware of the change.

Could anyone confirm the answer given to this question  is correct?
I've just bought 9k worth of Troughs (each one by one - more than one thousand of clicks) and didn't get the achievement.

I would check with cipsoft in a ticket as no one responded yet maybe it's bugged? I can't confirm been years since I've done the achievement

I'm a moron and I didn't realise that I've sold some items on the market and my balance went up
I can confirm that this achievement still works when buying Trough one by one.

On the other hand, the mess I've made in Edron was incredible and made quite a few people laugh ;)

Obtainable by making 1000 purchases of Furniture Kits. Note that you’ll have to make 1000 individual furniture kit purchases — making 10 purchases of 100 furniture kits each, for example, would only count as 10 purchases. Hint: The cheapest way to do this is to buy 1000 Trough Kits (7 gp each).
