Is it possible for a character to walk diagonally when feared?

When a character gets the fear condition from a mechanic or creature/boss, can it walk diagonally or just vertically and horizontally?

yes, if it is the only sqm that the character have to walk, e.g., if there are bombs in the ground and the character is fear, he will walk on the sqm without bombs, even diagonally. But if he has vertical and horizontal sqms to wal on, they will be the first option.
