Oskayaat continues the story started in the Grimvale quest: about how a curse or disease caused by werebeasts bites is transmitted like a plague all over Tibia: Grimvale, Edron, Darashia, and now from Ankrahmun to Tiquanda. This is called the Curse of the Full Moon because at the beginning of the disease only on the nights of the full moon (days 12th, 13th and 14th of each month in Tibia) the infected are transformed into beasts without self-control; however, as the condition worsens, those affected lose total control of themselves forever. Because of this, many people fear the curse, and they also hate and reject these beasts. However, not everything is fear and repulsion towards the Curse of the Full Moon, since the transformation to beasts gives great powers and strength to those who have it, due to this, many seek to become infected with the curse to acquire these powers. These are the general reactions to the curse, however, there were those who managed to overcome it: the werelions.
The werelions and werelioness led by Heliodor did not allow themselves to be controlled by the curse or disease, but they control it: they keep their human mind, but accept the strength that the curse gives them in order to be reborn as new and majestic creatures... just as it happened with the werelions, it was also the case with the citizens of Oskayaat…
In this summer update 2023, the new city Oskayaat was introduced, which is an island located precisely south of Tiquanda and Ankrahmun and its geography corresponds to these two continents: jungle and desert respectively. To the southeast there is also a volcano. In the middle of these two regions there is a mountain that is where in the past the city and civilization of Oskayaat flourished. If we review the city we can see remains of this culture that mainly admired Suon, the sun.
Currently, however, the city is somewhat in ruins, because, as in the other stories in the Grimvale quest, Oskayaat's glory was diminished by the Curse of the Full Moon. Just as it happened in Edron and Darama, here too the inhabitants of the island were transformed into creatures similar to the local fauna: weretigers, werepanthers and werecrocodiles. This situation created chaos, terror and despair in the city. However, just as it happened with the werelions, thanks to the bravery of the inhabitants of Oskayaat, they learned to control the curse and to adopt it as a part of themselves, a duality: keeping his human sanity and spirituality, but taking the strength of the moon and animals. That is why they now equally worship not only the sun, Suon, but also the moon, Amati, as a symbol of their strength and courage that made them survive as a civilization.
