What happens if I accidentaly enter Jaul's teleport but do not kill him?

I would like to know what happen if I accidentally entered Jaul's teleport, but did not attack him, will my timer start to count down? or can I use that same access for another boss?

If you enter Jaul’s teleport but do not kill him, you can re-enter at a later time. However, if you cause damage to him and another team comes along and kills this boss, you will not be able to enter and will have to open his chest and complete the crate task during stage 2 in order to be able to enter the boss again in the future.
