Currency in Game- Gold Coins (GP), Platinum Coins, and Crystal Coins- with those you can trade on
market, with NPC’s and with the players. There is additional currency- Tibia Coins which can be purchased
by using real money as also in game by using your gp’s. With Tibia Coins you can purchase items in Tibia’s
Store (items purchased there are character- bound, you cannot sell it to others) as also new Characters on Char Bazaar.
Tibia Store- offers products which you can purchase with Tibia coins; where most products is more "cosmetic", there are few items worth of consideration- check https://www.tibiaqa.com/20881/what-is-the-best-thing-to-spend-tc-on
Char Bazaar
It is now legal to buy character by transferable Tibia coins on Tibia.com. If you are busy in your real life, got some cash for your start in the game and want to jump straight to 400 level or low level with good skills- you can purchase a character which you desire on Tibia Bazaar. Please note that buying accounts and sharing the accounts are still illegal.
Tip: PvE servers chars are cheaper than PvP. Also yellow BattleEye servers will have cheaper chars with better skills.
Servers
Each server is defined by 3 main criteria:
- Location of the server
- USA (North America)
- Brazil (South America)
- United Kingdom (Europe)
- Security type (BattleEye- Anti cheating measures)
Protected (Yellow Eye, Old servers or servers which been merged and been
yellow previously) they become protected after sometime of the creation;
Initially Protected (Green Eye, most of them are new servers), they been
protected from the beginning;
Not Protected (Experimental)
- Type of the play
- Optional PvP ( Non- PvP)
- Open PvP
- Hardcore PvP
- Retro Open PvP
- Retro Hardcore PvP
Firstly: You should choose Server located in region where you live/play from. This is obviously to avoid lags and fps (tip: to view latency, press Alt+F8 while in the game).
Secondly: Little break down of pros and cons for BattleEye:
| Pros | Cons |
Green BattleEye | - You will be able to transfer new open servers - Less populated - because less populated easier to get a spawn you want | -Characters with good skills are more expensive on Char Bazaar - Less populated means more difficult to organize quest services, or bosses - Good Equipment is more expensive - Under wars for domination |
Yellow BattleEye | - Players from ""old times" - Cheapers characters with high skill on Bazaar - More populated means: - More people doing bosses, services; - More Items available, cheaper equipment | - Fully Dominated - More populated so spawns are usually taken - Cannot transfer to the new open servers |
Transfer:
You can transfer your character to another server if you wish to. Nevertheless, there are restrictions in place (for example you cannot transfer from PvE to PvP but you can transfer from PvP to PvE). Please see answer in https://www.tibiaqa.com/18852/how-to-know-what-worlds-i-can-world-transfer-to:
When transferring char take extra caution about dominando guilds- they usually demand payment for transfer or you might be hunted (not authorised transfer is taken as a try of the “invasion” on the server)
Vocation:
Vocations been in process of balancing for years. Each of them will have best in slot equipment, spawns to hunt solo and more developed purpose in team hunts. If you are not sure what you should choose- why not to make each vocation char and try all. It costs you nothing, and actually will help you to establish which suits you most. Chars not used in future can be put on daily trainings and then sold on Char bazaar for extra cash.
Sword/Axe/Club?
Each will have best in slot weapon available. Each will have weapons with all elemental attack. Where all been hyped for Axe over the years, actually the club users are having their momentum now. The club are much more affordable than swords and axes. Then axes are better with attack values. Swords are middle ground between club and axe. So you can choose any of those, but actually your skills will be the most important not the weapon category.
Daily Rewards & training:
I mean, who does not like free items and extra benefits? By using reward shrine, you will get items which are useful in game: training weapons, wild cards for your preys, potions/runes or even experience boost. Even if you do not have time to play, you should log in everyday to collect your daily rewards and put your char for offline training. It takes literally few minutes.
Imbuements:
Imbuments are a game changer during the hunt. It is investment which pays off. Imbuing is temporary enchanting your equipment. It is especially beneficial for recovering for your mana and life points as also elemental defence, offence. This makes your hunt much more smoother, safer and much more efficient. Very important also- Imbuings will make your waste significantly reduced.
Must have Imbuements:
- Mana Imbuement on helmet
- Life Imbuement on Armour
- Mana, Life, Critical on your weapon.
Tip- if you can’t make imbuements for yourself, ask for help others. Several servers offers safe imbuing services in their forums.
Prey
Prey is another enhancement for your hunt. Once started, cannot be paused- therefore it is better to choose your monster and start it when you are sure the spawn is free so you will not waste it. There are 4 types of buffs (defence, offence, experience, loot) which can be allocated with different intensively measured with stars (10 stars available).
(player) damage boost of 7% - 25% (steps of 2%);
(creature) damage reduction of 12% - 30% (steps of 2%);
bonus experience 13% - 40% of (steps of 3%);
improved loot 13% - 40% of (steps of 3%).
You can reroll, lock or select a prey by using wild cards- those can be collected from "Daily Rewards" or from Tibia Store.
The most important is to get to the point where you have 10 stars of the prey. As it is random, once you got it, it is worth to use “automatic bonus reroll” with monster, this will keep your stars at 10 for cost of only 1 wild card. You can also lock the prey (cost 5 wild cards) which will keep the same category of the buff as also stars.
There is also way that you can keep your prey bonus category and stars, it is by changing the creature. You will not use a wild card, but it will cost some gold coins according to the level of the char you are, or if you have no cool down, you can even change it for free.
Bestiary:
Almost every monster in game is registered in Bestiary. Killing monsters counts towards unlocking knowledge about the specific creature as also is rewarded with the charm points upon fully unlocking them. Charm points can be used to “buy” charms which will enhance even more your battle with monsters.
Charms;
Charms which you should unlock as soon as possible:
Charm | Type | Effect | Points |
Dodge | Defensive | Dodges an attack with a certain chance without taking any damage at all. | 600 |
Wound | Offensive | Triggers on a creature with a certain chance and deals 5% of its initial hit points as Physical Damage once | 600 |
Zap | Offensive | Triggers on a creature with a certain chance and deals 5% of its initial hit points as Energy Damage once | 800 |
Freeze | Offensive | Triggers on a creature with a certain chance and deals 5% of its initial hit points as Ice Damage once | 800 |
Parry | Defensive | Any damage taken is reflected to the aggressor with a certain chance. | 1000 |
Those are most useful and “affordable” charms on your start. However, you can always opt for something more suitable your hunts. However, keep in mind that Freeze and Zap were chosen out of all elemental offensive types due to the fact that Ice and Energy are the most used elemental damages in the game. In the same time Enflame costs 1000 charms points and most of the monsters are strong against fire. Ms and Ed should prioritise unlocking offensive charms first, where RP and EK should first unlock Dodge.

Bosstiary:
Bosstiary works similar ways as bestiary. Upon killing bosses, you will be unlocking stages of the particular boss(3) and getting points for it. Points will rise your chances of getting additional equipment loot from the chosen boss in your slot by you. Upon reaching 1500 points you will also have access to second boss slot. While it is giving you extra chances for getting additional loot and is worth of having it, it does not guarantee you will get “special boss items” like cobra wand or naga quiver. So if you have 80% chances collected from your boss points and you choose Scarlet for your slot it means you will get
Loot set + 80% chances of additional random loot set.
It does not mean loot set with 80% chances of getting cobra Rod in it.
Depot and stash:
Depot have now easy function of searching items you need (even by NPC who is buying those items). It also have separate stash store which will gather all stackable items: for example mushrooms or potions, runes. Stash store makes it easy to clean your back pack from the loot- “drag” your loot back pack on the box, and all stackable stuff will be stored in stash lock automatically!
Safety:
Scammers and hackers are still a thing in Tibia. Do not use links sent over to you in game (also team speak and discord) and do not trust easily 8lvl char who says he is leader dominando guild and you have to pay otherwise hunted. Double authenticator and recover key are a must to avoid loosing account.
Events:
Keep an eye of what is happening in tibia. There are double experience & double skill events every now and then, which is perfect time for boosting your skill or level. There are also rapid respawn events great for your bestiary and charms hunts. Many World Quests will give you extra profit or other benefits like rare bestiary.
