Does fist fighting improve your other melee skills in any way?

Does fist fighting skill improve my combat abilities in any way? Will I deal more damage with sword/club/axe if I have higher fist fighting skill? Will my hits be more accurate? Is there anything that fist fighting skill affects if I'm using a weapon?

No, at least I didn’t found nothing comproving that fist improve other skill damage like sword/club/axe or distance in any wiki or any other tibia related site...

This is a old rumor, but at the end the skill does not affect on other stats/skills/damage/hit or anything.
