Why do some streamers use a Mage Hat at higher levels?

I see many youtube videos where high lvl mages are using Mage Hat. I think it has something to do with imbuements, is it only better with T3 imbu?

They mainly use it when they can't afford a Gnome Helmet (+2 ml, 2 imbuing slots) or a Falcon Circlet  (+2 ml, 2 imbuing slots).

The next best helmet for mages to use is the Yalahari Mask (+2 ml, 1 imbuing slot), but since it only has 1 imbuing slot, you have to choose between getting some extra ml or mana leech, and if you are going to a place where you need those extra magic levels and also some mana leech to help you keep up with your mana, then it is better to use a Mage Hat  which doesn't give you any extra ml but has 2 imbuing slots and you can imbue it with magic lvl and mana leech, but it is only worth it if you use T3 imbue (+4 ml), since T2 gives you only +2 ml, which would end up being the same as having the Yalahari Mask

Ps, Falcon Circlet only got +2 magic level

It can only be wielded properly by sorcerers and druids of level 300 or higher.
It weighs 13.00 oz.

Also worth to mention Galea Mortis which also got +2 ml and 2 imbuing slots. It's for lvl 220 and only for sorcerers, but way cheaper than the falcon circlet/gnome helmet.

It’s because the hat has 2 imbue slots and for mages there isn’t much options of helmets with same amount of slots (mage hat is the cheapest one..) since the other helmets with same amount of slots are gnome helmet and falcon circlet...

The other elemental helmets doesn’t have slots and the Yalahari Mask only has 1 slot

I'm currently using yalahari with t2 mana leech, when would be a good idea to think about mage hat, I think it's only worth with t3 magic lvl to get +4 mlvl and an extra imbu?

Yes it’s only worth with magic lvl +4 and mana leech or critical and mana leech it depends of the hunt and the set you are using

Because you can put 2 imbuements on it. Magic level +4 and powerful void while yalaharian mask for example has only 1 slot. So people prefer to have 2 magic less but still have mana leech and 4 mlvls on.
