What items can I use instead of carpets in home decorating?

Question

As we know, carpets from the store are expensive, especially if you have several large houses. I would like to replace them with something that really catches the eye. I don't want to use void carpets and rift carpet.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

First I'd like to say that I am so thrilled that more players are interested in making carpets from ingame items! :D I am also honoured that you used my floor as an example. I have made a list of the items I used at the bottom of this post.

I made this quick guide for making carpets for my instagram:

I wrote this in my instagram post:

"When making a carpet there are a few things to have in mind:
*try to fill out the entire sqm to minimise the gaps in the carpet
*use items that give a uniform, flat surface
*use colours that harmonise unless you are deliberately making a patterned design
*use colours that are a good contrast to the furniture and items you will display so that the carpet stays visually in the background instead of competing with your items. After all it's just a carpet xd"

When making carpets, I prefer to use cloaks and armors as the base layer because I don't like the strong black shadow on the folded tapestries. Spirit cloak, glacier kilt and zaoan robes are among my favourites. I also use a lot of foods in my carpets because the stacks of 10 often fill out the sqm quite nicely. Coloured eggs are also a nice base layer. Same goes with most of the replicas sold by the npc Cillia in Thais Museum on sundays. I generally use the weapons in the "valuable" category because I think the movement effect on the "ornate" weapons is too distracting. But that is a matter of taste :)

For the medium and top layers these are my favourites: glooth farina , solid rage , spiderweb clouds shreds , spider silk , flour

As for the items in the disco floors, I used a huge variety and I am not sure I can remember all, but I will try. I did use void carpets as a base though. but it will work without if the original floor is dark enough. Except for the pink one where I can see a bit of the carpet underneath. All tiles have a spiderweb clouds shreds as the top layer. As this was meant to be a disco floor I used a lot of items with animated effects and I tried to make the effect unique for each colour.

Red: 25 crimson roses, zaoan robe , shockwave amulet

Blue: spirit cloak , 10 coloured eggs (blue) , volatile proto matter

Green: 10 peas  , 10 coloured eggs (green) , lit glowing mushroom , flexible dragon scale

Yellow: yellow fireworks rocket , 10 lemons , (possibly 10 yellow eggs), fiery heart , ground reed

Purple: valuable carving crossbow , valuable carving bow , dangerous proto matter , voodoo lily pollen

Pink: energy basher replica , 10 prickly pears , energy ball , wild desert rose

I'm aware that I'm not very creative in decorating house, but I really like to put straight on the floor Voodoo Lily Pollens and Ground Reed . In the corners you can see both of them + some Tattered Swan Feather , that are avaliable to buy in Black Bert offert.

I use also different kind of carpets and parquet avaliable in Store, however this option isn't unique at all, but expensive.

On the screenshot you have found on the internet I'm afraid that somebody used Void Carpets . It is visible the most in places I put red rectangles:

You could try the effect with different kind of tapestries as a basement + some random items to highlight the coulor of each particular tapestry.

For example with Purple Tapestry combine Voodoo Lily Pollen and Spiderweb Clouds Shreds - maybe it will look similar.

Recently on TibiaLife contest I saw really creative decoration made by Peasize Head:

I really like it! He used combination of Black Pearls , Black Shields and Solid Rages .

I made a "reaserch" and check among player's houses what they use except things I have already mentioned - for example Birthday Cakes . Personally I dont like the effect, but you have to judge on your own:

And of course as soon as it is possible technically - everywhere you can see Leaves.

That's why I don't want to use carpets from the store. I also love Voodoo Lily Pollen and Ground Reed, but I would like to use something different, something similar to the picture that i found.
For clarity, you may not be creative but I like your minimalist decoration :)

for base you can use these items:

•  - these "born" armors take up a lot of space and almost covering floor as a carpet.
•  - tapestries, many in tibia but bigger ones will look better.
• Leaves  
• Curious Matter

for 'disco' effect you can use:

• Energy balls
• Ancient liche bone
• Crystallized anger
•  Proto matters
• Spark Sphere
• Dung Ball

these are just my hints that you can use, I recommend focusing on creatature items and those from the carpet decorating quests. If you care what exactly is on the carpets in the picture, I can try help too.

*ah! one more! sometimes it is worth thinking about the layout of the house and don't buy a floor for all sqms. For example, in my house we have a large roof, and yet I don't lie everywhere carpets and it aren't visible :)

Interesting to the disco effect. But I think Earthborn Titan Armor is too expensive to cover the floor.

yes, the green version of the armor is a bit too expensive, but I mentioned the other two and didn't want to skip the green one too. Here people like to look for negatives deliberately, I thought I would be criticized for omitting it rather than adding it because it is expensive.
